PARENTING COACH

Parenting SkillsParenting is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. Parenting refers to the activity of raising a child rather than the biological relationship.

The goals of human parenting are debated. Usually, parental figures provide for a child's physical needs, protect them from harm, and impart in them skills and cultural values until they reach legal adulthood, usually after adolescence.

There is strong consensus that parents matter in how their children develop and function. Many of the skills children acquire are fundamentally dependent on their interactions with their caregivers and the broader social environment. In fact, the quality of parenting a child receives is considered the strongest potentially modifiable risk factor that contributes to the development of behavioural and emotional problems in children.

Parent-child interactions affect many different areas of development, including self-esteem, academic achievement, cognitive development and behaviour. Yet according to data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth, only one-third of Canadian parents use optimal parenting approaches.

It has been said that parenting is the most difficult job, and the most important responsibility, you will ever have in your life. Unfortunately, you receive little or no formal training in parenting, yet you are constantly criticized for every mistake you make. Usually, we either do what our parents did, or we do the exact opposite, depending on our opinion of the parenting we Parenting Skillsreceived.

No one provides us with clear guidelines about the right way to parent. There are no classes in school, and childbirth preparation focuses almost entirely on the birth process.

Parenting skills training should focus on general parent-child interactions. Often, the goal is to help parents avoid ineffective parenting responses, by learning effective ways of managing their children's behavior.

Parenting is a tough. With all the distractions out there it’s hard to stay connected with your kids no matter what their age. You have to be persistent to establish and maintain healthy, two-way communication. We wish we can help you with all the parenting tips that we have find in this site.
