Summer Camps -  for girls 14 to 23

Every August, the Looking Glass Summer Camp offers young women experiencing disordered eating an 8-day camp focusing on wellness, supportive nutrition, fun, and friendship – all in the spectacular setting of Loon Lake Forestry Camp in British Columbia.

Looking Glass partners with outdoor adventure specialists, Pinnacle Pursuits, to create a camp filled with adventure, fun, and many memorable experiences. Together, we offer a rich program of activities designed to inspire, educate, and transform – all while having fun and enjoying the company of new friends.

With camper safety and enjoyment being our highest concern, the Looking Glass Summer Camp staff includes a full complement of nurses, dietitians, and program coordinators. The ratio of trained staff to campers is exceptionally high, at approximately 1 staffer for every 3 campers.

The Looking Glass Summer Camp is geared to young women between the ages of 14 and 23 who are experiencing disordered eating, but are medically and psychiatrically stable.

While Summer Camp is not intended to directly treat or cure eating disorders, it does enable young women with disordered eating to challenge their belief systems through therapeutic adventures. It is a safe, supportive place to experience companionship with others and to explore leisure activity, fun-filled adventure, and sound nutrition. Campers gain the skills to live life beyond their eating disorder – and have described it as one of the best experiences of their lives.

Registration for Summer Camp is now open! Go here for a breakdown of the registration steps. Out-of-province Canadians are welcome to apply, but acceptance depends on space.

Special thanks to the Hamber Foundation and Pacific Blue Cross Community Connection Health Foundation for their generous donations in support of the Looking Glass Summer Camp.
